No1 MkVI Trial Rifle

Well illustrated in this picture is the magazine cut-off (later eliminated for the actual No4 rifle) and the cut in the fore-end to accommodate it. Also the original fore-end checkering (it too was eliminated for the actual No4 rifle).


In this picture you can clearly see the original "top hat" style of cocking piece and the original scallop that was located behind the safety lever.


This muzzle image shows an early style sight ear arrangement and the stacking swivel. Another item that was later dropped completely for the No4 rifle.


Here is a No1 MkVI that was converted to a No4 MkI. Notice the magazine cut-off, lower cut receiver wall and the scallop cut to the receiver underneath the rear sight. Clear evidence that it was originally a MkVI.
