I recently met the author of a novel written about Canadian soldiers who landed on Juneau beach. He graciously gave me a copy and asked for my feedback. I am a Canadian military history junkie and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this read.
The author has followed the exploits of this group of soldiers right through to the liberation of Holland and the defeat of Nazi Germany. I found it a very entertaining read. It is a novel, and therefore fictional to a large degree. But in the style of George MacDonald Fraser (author of the Flashman papers) this story involves real WW2 vets and real battles that they fought in.
Below are pictures of the book covers.
