I'd say .303
I have enough stuff on hand to restore the 1945 TR. With the left overs I can save the othere rifle with the fat 7.62 barrel.
......................
I can pair it up with an unused never mounted 303 barrel and sweet 1945 #32 MKIII.
Receiver looks super and no FTR stamps.
..........Cheers.............

Too much work, just sell me that ancient scope and be done with it....
Now that that's out of the way, we're mostly Canadian here so I think you'll be getting a lot of votes in favour of .303Brit

I cleaned about half of the cosmoline off the 303 barrel and it's a new BSA new as in never mounted. Don't remember where I got it. So an M47 rifle with a new BSA barrel answers the question. Well it answers two questions. Now the fat 7.62 will have a home on the '49 with PF numbers. It's very clean '49 receiver.
I haven't bought a new rifle in almost two years so pulling these projects up and dumping bins of parts it like a trip to toy land. The only bit missing is that grub screw to pinch the front sight blade and the correct front sight blade for a T. That barrel never had a sight installed.
Cheers
