577/450 cartridge identification
I have a photo of three cartridges, the far left has a green band around the lead bullet, I believe this is a smokeless loading for the carbine ? any help would be appreciated.
the middle is a 297/250 Rook
the far right is the very early 500/450

Early 577/450 cartridge cases did not work out in the new Gatling guns. was the Gatling gun ever chambered for the 303 service cartridge ?

Not that I have ever been able to find, closest was the .30 US Army or Krag. Not too much difference there...shoulder location and diameter.

Those cases look like someone used them to "bite down on" while suffering an amputation...

They made them with a wrap method where they crunched the case around the load and bullet complete. I'd have like to see their machines.
