Late Winchester search
I'm looking for information on these late Winchester carbines that are known to exist and should be in this country.

I have Winchesters 6498313 and 7236725, both have all the late features, including C marked type 3 bands. I belive the rotary safety is orignal on the 7 mil and part of an arsenal upgrade ( boxed BA ) on the 6 mil. Any idea when these two were manufactured? Good luck in your research!

Some of the carbines listed above were out of a wooden box of ten that were being sold in the late 1980s through early 1990s by a now deceased gun dealer named Peter Cardone. None of them were accepted by the Government and thus do not have the acceptance cartouche on the right side of the stock. The box is believed to have come out of the Winchester Museum in the 1970s when the inventory of that museum was being sent to the Cody Museum in Wyoming.
The others were listed on a sales receipt from Winchester to a dealer (also deceased) dating back to 1975.
