Most references on the K98k have a section on the G33/40. Don't know of a book that covers only the 33/40. Those same books will have photos of the carbines.
Here are a couple of phoptos of mine.

Here are a couple that I acquired years ago. I think these are the neatest K98 variation to come out of WWII.

Mag, They are impressive looking 33/40s. Do they both have the 945 code on the receiver?
In the Mauser Book 4th edition by Ball, he mentions the 33/40s have laminate stocks and top wood.
Do you know if the 16/33 front sight is the same as the 33/40?
I have a 16/33 with a ramp front sight installed, I am waiting for two 33/40s to arrive. Are the dimensions of the 33/40 the same as the 16/33?

I received your message about the G33/40. Please turn on your PM, I am unable to respond.
Thank you

You simply use the "Reply" button after you open and read his PM (Private Message). His PM function is working fine, so I have no idea why you're unable to respond to his request. Perhaps have another look ..
I've also removed your request for information from the Gunshopper WTB forum as it's not the correct place for that type of post.

G33/40 Just Arrived
My two G33/40s arrived Thursday. One is a 1940, 945 and the other one is a dot 1942. The early one has a really interesting three piece stock and the older one has a laminate stock. I noticed that under the serial numbers on each gun is a lower cased letter, early one has an "a", later is a "b". I noticed that on the picture provided by Sarge13 there is a "c" below his serial number.
Are they lot numbers or series numbers?
