Correct theory. During ACP (aid to the civil power) training the shield was held up in front and the troops went under at the knees and shins.

By far the best, with the thong that goes over the back of the hand, not wrist. Almost indestructible.

Totally agree. I had to carry the PR-24 version when I was working patrol. I should actually say I carried it in the car, because that's where it always stayed. It was uncomfortable to carry on the belt and a pain to get to expand. The balance was horrible. My favorite was my LAPD PR-24. That baton ended more confrontations just by being drawn from its ring and it was very comfortable to wear.
