Two sections. The top half round section is sleeved onto the main tube and the bottom slotted bit is part of the trigger mech housing

Just as a matter of interest and getting this back on track, did anyone out there in forumland convert an old rifle butt into a Mk5 Sten butt for their needy Mk5? Anyone going to do it in the future?

I was going to go the other way Peter, convert a #4 to take a Sten butt...for easier concealment.

No, but I have asked a few dealers if they have any bantam size No4 butts available for sale but, so far, none that I've spoken to do. It's been suggested on another thread that only Long-branch produced the bantam butt?

They were a Long Branch only item and made of gorgeous black walnut. How many do you want? $10 each new in the wrapper plus post.

I have a couple of new manufacture beech Mk.5 butts available too @ $59 plus post.

It would be a very cool project. Alas, I have no woodworking skills.

Why not have a go, Vincent? Brunel didn't get everything right first time and I'm sure he produced a few things that he would rather forget like all of us. You learn from your mistakes.

You're having us on Vince........ Looking at some of the projects that you have successfully carried out and completed to a VERY high standard makes me think that you must have an extensive workshop - or some talented engineer friends locally!

At the price Vincent, just buy a few in case you screw a couple up! They ain't making them anymore.
