    It can be interesting to have a service rifle that actually has a provenance establishing actual use.
    I have two Boer Mausers, a Loewe and a DWM, both named. One has a projectile hole through the forend.
    These were no doubt brought home as trophies; given that they turned up in Ontario, perhaps by soldiers who served in the RCR.
    I know the names of the Boer Burghers who used these rifles. Unfortunately there seems to be no way of finding out the names of the Canadians who brought them back.

    Exclamation Madsen M47 - Columbia Model 58

    I have two of these, in mint condition, with bayonets.
    The amazement factor is that the bayonets' serial numbers each match their respective accompanying rifle.
    FURTHER amazing is the two rifles'/bayonets' serial numbers ARE SEQUENTIAL!
