    US Trench Gun Sling Length

Anyone know if the US Trench Gun slings are necessarily longer than the rifles? I have a Model 12 (repro) with 1907 sling attached that seems pretty short compared to early US rifles
Are they just expected to be that way due to the increased distance of the swivel?

It's also difficult to adjust the length if that means anything.

    Thanks -

Just a standard 1907 sling or canvas M1icon sling, nothing special.
