There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Actually you could not really put a price tag on that such is it's provenance hopefully it might be put on display if it already isn't I place the USAicon's Garand alongside the Lee Enfield for a battle proven rifle both won wars.

The rifle number...is one million. The rifle was purchased from Garandicon's family when he died by NRA president Alan Cors and was in his collection. As far as I know still...

Here's the last sale listed for it. https://www.rockislandauction.com/de...ation-m1garand

    another historical M1 Rifle

While not really worth alot of money, this M1icon still has some historical interest as being the first M1 (complete) rifle sent to Winchester in Sept 1938. Winchester was able to test and study this example (as outlined in Canfield's WW2 book on the M1 Rifle). As some point in time during WW2, this rifle was returned to Springfield and rebuilt (to gas port) and issued out to service.
Photos show the rifle as it looks now
