Home Guard Humour
I was looking through a little booklet titled "Home Guard Humour" which i assume to have belonged my grandfather because he served in the home guard during WW2. Apparently original copies like mine were first published in 1945, the year after the H.G. was stood down. There are many amusing cartoons in the booklet and some are very good, for example, on the rifle range the targets placed behind the H.G. because, the implication being, their shooting is so bad and unboxing a crate of what is labeled up as American rifles with the grease falling off in large drips.
I did an eBay search and was surprised to find that the booklet has been republished.
I thought that others here may be interested
