Beautiful!!
I’m debating between a mk1 or mk2 action.
I do like the authenticity of the mk1 but I also want it to perform to its absolute peak ability so I’d like to use a mk2.
With help of a very knowledgeable and helpful Ron I’m leaning towards authentic.
What do you guys think? Much difference accuracy wise or stay true to the history?

If you have the choice, and neither would be ripping up a functioning rifle I would go with the Mk1. My L42 build has a lovely trigger pull, but (thanks to a bit of work) so does my Mk1*.

Obtaining an accurate barrel would be I would imagine the hardest part.

Tough one.
I've got a very original and nice No.4T, so for me, the reason I would like a clone L42 would be to make it a very good and accurate target rifle, that looks like a L42, so for that reason I'd probably go for Mk.2.
The trouble is also want a similar accurate clone build of a K98k low turret sniper as well

Very helpful thanks!
Given I’ll be bedding it with modern bedding materials I should stop worrying the trigger pull would change over time!

Ha this exactly is my issue!
I’ve alson done a few turret clones now and they are all very accurate! The 7.62 Israeli I did shot under an inch at 100y with all ammo.
Accumounts makes some of the best repro turrets right now.
The big challenge is installing them level and collimating.

If historic internal isn’t and issue and you are going for a glass bedding, then you might as well go Mk2 as well and get the benefit of an independently hung trigger

An inch at 100y for a sniper rifle is not very good. My L42 stacks them in one hole at 100y as does the 4t

All of my guns put the bullets through one hole, even the pistols, at the muzzle.

Not hard to find in the UK; getting them into N.A. a bit more work.
