U. S. & S. 45 ACP Born on date
I was fortunate enough to luck into a U. S.&S. 45 ACP. The gun is in very good shape. It is marked correctly. The serial number is10753XX. By using a very crude average of 4500 pistols a month, I figure the firearm was made in mid July of 1943. If someone has any more specific information I would appreciate it. The only thing wrong with the gun it has a flannery barrel.
Thanks
Vernon Morris

Charles W. Clawson, in his 3rd Edition Collector's Guide, shows the procuremnt records for US&S. You don't give the full serial number...but by doing simple math and guesstimating what your serial number might be, your pistol is more likely a June 1943 pistol.
BTW, in the 10 months of US&S production, there was only one month where they produced about 4500 pistols. The other months were nowhere close to 4500...all significantly higher or lower.
However...July was a pretty good stab in the dark.
