03A3 Handguard Clip Fit

Can anybody give me some tips/tricks to getting the handguard clips to fit snug? Mine have a 1/16th inch of daylight between them and the wood. I can press them flush, but they spring right back and touch the barrel. The guard seems properly inletted and it is USGI wood and metal. Thanks in advance.

try another set of springs, some fit better then others.
