Don't know how that would be today the way my knees act...
Yes, Korea... "Troops of the 187th regimental combat team form lines after being air dropped in the Sukchon and Sunchon areas in North Korea on Oct. 20, 1950."
Really? Still today they have that sort of thing?
Nice recovery though, looks good.
Kind of surprising when no one else knows...we NEVER see them here.
We did have the ones that are marked and I saw broad arrow marking on some. This is just what came my way. That one's flat new...
Neat piece, you're lucky to be able to virtually reach out to find some of this equipment. You've sure had some good stuff come your way.

That would have been my guess also. It would make more sense than a later shipment. We've also had pics of Ethiopian combatants here on forum.
I have a feeling those might have been more inconvenient than useful. I'm sure some here have first hand experience...even if visual.
Really? That's unusual. Show us after.
OK, that explains it.
Here's the OP's 1903 pic...
Are those rear sights numbered correctly in the picture Alan?
Your pic did not survive the posting, if you need help posting I can do it for you. See your PMs.
Should be OK as long as the mechanism doesn't function auto...if you look at the depressions for the selector detent, you'll see the difference. They're cut into the side of the selector shaft. ...
