Peter and KevinG. Thank you for the information. I am now reassured. Kind regards, Lester
I have just checked my Swiss bayonets. The fittings on your 1899 bayonet are exactly the same as the M1914 and M1918. In the UK the M1899 is harder to find than a M1918 . I would advise you to keep...
I have seen a few of these "Irish" MK3 Brenguns about. These all seem to be matching number etc and have extending legs bipods. Some others I have seen on sale by Chelmsford and D&B are stamped on...
Any one got an RAF blue Brengun sling.........................? :)
Thank you for the information Peter. This means I went to the trouble to swap two bayonets for an ex Irish Army Brengun tool kit, tool roll, gun cover and sling. For nothing Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
Stampings for Richard Abr Herder Soilingen=clc. I would think matching number £100+ retail.
Cannot help with the frog stamping. However I have a note in my records of a suitable book. Bayonet...
Try Ryton Arms. They sell a lot of D/A Thompson Guns. Since Tony Budge died they have down sized and may have some display fittings to sell. They are quite helpful when you telephone them.
JasonA. Vickers only produced approx 20,000 1907 bayonets. The last one I saw for sale in the UK was priced at £150. A regular Wilkinson or Sanderson 1907 sells for approx £75 to £85 with scabbard....
Tank Hunter. My Irish MK3 Bren has the gas regulator in the same position as your one ( photos on FB). Please keep me informed of any modifications required. Kind regards, Lester
Dear All, thank you for the posts above. Which are most useful to me. I can confirm all the numbers in my previous post. This is a Kings Crown 1940 engraving on the right side of the Bren gun. I...
After a long wait. I have found a 1940 Enfield Mk1 Dove tail. Correct 1* barrel, extending legs bi-pod and hump back butt. Also got a MK1 Enfield magazine. Serial no=D3627. Trigger group is...
Try Milweb or Gunstar to sell bayonets. Another site I have purchased from is V bid me in Portugal. The chap who runs V bid use to be "Sword Seller" on E-bay. The idiots who spoilt E-bay Uk for the...
Do you know the manufacturer of the 1907 bayonet? If it's a rare maker like Mole, Vickers or Chapman it might be worth a go. In the UK Wilkinson and Sanderson 1907 bayonets are selling retail for £75...
If you go into production with this adapter. I will be second place in the cue!
Tankhunter. I have a Drafuss AA mount for my M53. If you need to take measurements. I am in Romford. My M53 fits a H&K 1977 MG3 Lafette tripod.
Enfield MK3 Bren. Ex Irish Army. UE55 A3024. Appears to be all original with extending leg bipod.
NTC is the maker of the Australian made Bren multi tool.
Useless information= A subcontractor making the multi tool for Enfield was ACME Show Card. A greetings card printer. They had a small work...
I have purchased a Mk3 Bren ex Irish Army. All matching numbers and little used. S/N UE 55 A3024. A lot of money but worth it. I thought if I waited until War and Peace I would miss out!
I have a mint ex Slovinaian Army M53 ( MG42). I think a milled gun such as the Bren is stronger construction but would be a very expensive gun to produce now. If you enjoy a well built gun get a...
Not too many Lanchester SMG bayonets about in the UK. Look for an "NI" Naval Issue stamping. Swap the WW1 1907 in my opinion.
Enjoy your collecting. KRs Lester
Just for interest. I have a Springfield 1919 dated "tanto point" cut down bayonet. Converted by UFH in 1942. Together with a shortened scabbard. The hand grips and locking parts have been replaced at...
Nice Dovetail Brengun. This is probably one of the few that did not go to France in 39/40. It's so difficult to find a nice Dovetail these days. Often you see them with the wrong barrel, butt and...
A bit of useless information. When my Dad sailed for South Africa in 1941.From the UK .He was issued with a brand new and unissued Lithgow SMLE made at the end of WW1. The Australians had a 100,000...
Peter, please reserve me a copy of your book.Took me a long time to find "The Guns of Dagenham"! ( I live in Romford).
Happy new year every one. Lester
I have a D/A Inglis MkIM Brengun in my collection. Also made in 1942. Yours looks to be original. A nice find indeed! Well done.
Kind regards, Lester
